On the whole as these fabrics require special treatments to give special properties they can tend to be more expensive. But, they are very effective in keeping out the light. The only area that surrounds the edge of the blind may permit some light to enter the room.

Many Roman Blinds have the option of adding a Blackout lining on the reverse of the blind. By adding a blackout lining, this will improve the way the blind hang and the life of the blind.
